# Changelog

## Unreleased

## 0.1.0 — 2026-09-21

- Panels can keep small string values between openings with `offsider.storage`, shared by panels
  opened from the same folder.
- Panels can choose an ordinary window with `"floating": false` and place working controls in an
  overlay titlebar with `data-offsider-titlebar-control`.

- Offsider now owns panel tools and long-running jobs. Panels can stream separate stdout and stderr,
cancel jobs, and reconnect to recent output after a reload.
- `offsider open` can detach with Ctrl-C while its panel keeps running. `offsider attach` resumes
events; Command-W hides a panel and `offsider show` brings it back without losing state.
- Offsider lists open panels in its menu bar and Window menu. Panels can declare an icon for their
Dock tile, and newly opened panels come to the front.
- Panel permission windows open on the display under the pointer, centered within its usable area.
- Panels can request Apple Foundation Models and macOS notifications with native permission.
- Panels receive semantic system colors as CSS variables, updated when appearance or accent colors
  change.
- Local builds install Offsider Dev and `offsider-dev` alongside the release app and CLI. Seven
examples cover the panel APIs and system colors.

- Review and approve all panel tool commands in a native permission window before a panel loads.
Signed builds remember approvals securely; development builds keep them for the session.
Revoke them from the Offsider menu at any time.

- Offsider runs small HTML apps in floating native Mac windows.
- Open panels from the terminal, send new data, and receive events as JSON.
- Declare tools in `panel.json` and run them in the terminal environment that opened the panel.
- Use native or overlay titlebars, themed backgrounds, and a sandboxed JavaScript bridge.
- Read the documentation and release notes on the Rails website.
